After 20 years, Mayhew’s main kennel block was in need of a refurbishment and we were pleased to approach our good friends at Pedigree Pens who have provided bespoke cat cabins, dog units and recovery cages for our Community Veterinary Clinic over the years and always to a high standard.
Together with our Head of Animal Welfare the team at Pedigree Pens came up with a design of 10 new kennel units which would provide both a safe, secure and calming environment for the dogs staying at Mayhew, but also great functionality for the kennel and animal welfare teams. Our new kennels are light and airy, easy to access safely and easy to clean. And we were delighted with the brand touches that Pedigree Pens were able to incorporate into the design.
Mayhew understands that the kennel environment is not a good long-term solution for the welfare of dogs, but whilst they are with us they will now benefit from kennels that have been designed to help alleviate the stress and anxieties that some dogs experience on the way to finding a new home and provide a good working environment for the staff.
