Many of our customers have installed
our products themselves - anyone with basic DIY skills
can do it. We have chosen to use PVCu as our prime material for reasons of hygiene, practicality, weather resistance, ease of cleaning & for it's fire retardant properties. Our materials are, of course, completely compliant with the CIEH minimum standard guidelines, which relate to animal welfare standards, hygiene & construction materials. Bases:
Level concrete base needed with fall of 1 : 80 (min) to front corridor
to assist drainage. Sneeze barriers: All sneeze barriers have 50% insulated panel at bottom (for rigidity) and 50% toughened safety glass to top Meshed Areas: Corridors/Run access door are of white PVCu containing heavy duty galvanised steel mesh Insulation: All sleeping quarter walls are fully insulated (including ceilings) to a depth of c. 28mm. The shelves are solid (not insulated) Security: Outer doors are lockable - sleeping quarters can also be supplied with locking mechanism Fire resistance: PVCu is self-extinguishing Hygiene: PVCu is impervious, rot proof, wipe-clean and maintenance free Woodgrain Finish: At an extra cost we can offer our complete range of woodgrain finish. With wipe-clean surfaces, secure turn buckles (or multi-point locking systems) & galvanised heavy duty 1" square mesh, you can be sure that you will have a cattery that will be second to none.
About Timber: If you are thinking of timber, please think carefully & read our comments -it offers a short-term cheaper alternative, little protection from disease & more expense in the long-term. |
